Texas WR wants more from Oregon
After a stellar WR recruiting class this year Scott Frost will likely have his work cut out for him trying to narrow down his list of targets from the talent that is out there. The Ducks are unlikely to have a large class of WR's this year but several are getting some early attention. One such recruit is Cayleb Jones from Austin, TX. Duck Sports Authority recently spoke with Jones about his recruitment.
"It has been going pretty good ever since last year," Jones said. "It picked up pretty well after my sophomore year. There's been a good bit of schools that are showing interest."
The numbers that Jones put up his sophomore year made many coaches stand up and take notice. Jones had 91 catches for 1,050 yards and 9 touchdowns and was honored as a sophomore all-American. At 6-foot-3 and 198 pounds as a junior he was selected first team all state. Not a minor accomplishment in an athletic and talent filled state like Texas and it has not gone unnoticed. Florida, Miami, Notre Dame and Oklahoma are just a few of the schools that have already offered Jones with Texas and Oregon showing early interest as well. However, Jones isn't being star struck by the early offers and says he is trying to keep a clear mind.
