Sooners New Position Lacks a Namesake

One of the focal positions of Oklahoma's current defense was given it's name by former Sooner All-American and Thorpe award winner Roy Williams. With the ever-growing presence of Oklahoma's '50' defensive set that the Sooners employed late in the 2010 season it seems that another name may need to be attributed to the memory of Sooner fans.

Unlike the 'Royback' the 'Jack' linebacker isn't based off any Sooner great but the Sooners are looking to change that by pursuing some of the nation's best hybrid linebackers. Among those leading that charge is The Villages, Fla. standout Noor Davis.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect picked up an offer from the Sooners late last week and talked a little bit about where Bobby Jack Wright sees him fitting into the Sooner defense.
