McKenzie making his rounds early

Jaborian McKenzie goes by "Tip" and he and his father visited Louisiana Tech Monday and stuck around for spring practice.

Tip received his second FBS offer today when the University of Southern Mississippi offered him this morning. Previously, Vanderbilt was his only offer. To pick up two quality offers this early speaks highly for his abilities on the field.

Louisiana Tech has told McKenzie that they would like to see him workout at their camp before offering. He will attend camp this summer in Ruston.

McKenzie is one of those true athletes teams recruit and will try and use at multiple positions. In high school, his coaching staff tries to get him in space on the offensive side of the ball by moving him around from running back to receiver. He also serves as a kick and punt returner and a cornerback or safety on defense.

So far, Tip has visited Mississippi State, USM, Tech, and visits Memphis tomorrow. When deciding on a college Tip said, "I want to see how I can fit in the offense."

Tip said his Dad loved Tech but he doesn't have any favorites. He thinks he'll make a decision following the summer.

McKenzie reports a 4.47 40 yard dash time and says the strength of his game is his breakaway speed when he is in space.
