Top 250 OL serious about Spartans

Adam Bisnowaty of Fox Chapel Area High School in Pennsylvania is one of the top offensive line prospects in the nation for the class of 2012. He is also high on the Michigan State recruiting board. Spartanmag.com was able to speak with him and got the latest details on his recruitment.

Michigan State is looking at adding 1 more offensive lineman to the class of 2012. The players they are focused on project at the offensive tackle spot. Bisnowaty, who is rated a 4-star recruit and the #177 player in the nation by Rivals.com is on the short list of players the Spartans like for that scholarship spot.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound Bisnowaty recently returned from NIKE's "The Opening" which was a cam comprised of 150 of the top prospect from across the nation. He performed very well at the camp and what was especially impressive is the testing numbers he put up for someone his size. His combined SPARQ ratings was one of the best of all linemen in attendance 86.19 and his power-ball throw of 42-feet was one of the top 10 efforts of all camp participants.

SpartanMag.com asked Bisnowaty about his experience at The Opening.

"It went really well," Bisnowaty stated. "I roomed with Michigan state commitment Benny McGowan while I was out there."

No doubt McGowan kept the Spartans in Bisnowaty ear while he was out there. The combination of Bisnowaty at tackle and McGowan at guard would be very formidable to say the least.

Bisnowaty made a Midwest trip earlier this summer, stopping into schools such as Michigan State, Michigan, Notre and Purdue. When he returned from Michigan State he had the following to say.

"The trip was great," Bisnowaty said. "I really liked Coach (Mark) Staten. I was able to spend the day with him as well as some of the players and I really enjoyed it. I liked how laid back everything was. The campus is really nice and the people are very easy going."

ESpartanmag.com asked Bisnowaty if he has been in contact with the Michigan State staff recently and where they stand in his recruitment.

I talked with Coach Staten just the other day," he stated. "I called just to say hello. I like Coach Staten a lot. He is a coach that has played the position. Michigan State is a great school and is a program that is on the rise."

Bisnowaty has indicated that he wants to play for a program that will allow him to compete for championships. The fact that under the direction of Mark Dantonio the Spartans have become one of the Elite programs in the Big Ten is a positive factor.

Bisnowaty has indicated in the past that he wants to make a decision earlier rather than later. Spartanmag.com asked him if that is still the case and what teams are standing out at this time

"I am looking at the first two weeks o September as when I will make my decision. I do not have a list of final teams yet."

In addition to Michigan State, several other teams are considered to be in the mix for the services of Bisnowaty. Big Ten teams like Michigan, Purdue and Penn State are also actively involved in his recruitment as are some southern teams like the Florida Gators

Bisnowaty is heading down to Florida this week to spend a few days checking out the Gators. He informed is that upon returning home form that trip he will likely narrow down his list to a few finalists and he hopes to visits those schools again before making his choice.

Bisnowaty has indicated that more than anything the people at the school will likely be the biggest factors in his decision making process. The rapport he builds with coaches, current players and recruits are all going to be key elements in helping him find the school that is the best fit for him.

Michigan State is hoping to have numerous top recruits on campus the weekend of October 15th. That weekend the Spartans will be hosting the Wolverines. In addition to being a clash of in-state rivals, the Spartans will be unveiling the NIKE Pro-Combat Uniform. Michigan State is one of only 11 schools in the country selected to do so. If Bisnowaty has not made a college decision by then, you can be sure Coach Staten will be working hard to have him and his family on campus that weekend.
