Pace thinks SU is on the rise

When it comes to recruiting Ohio there are always good prospects around, but there are certain schools that coaches take a look at first and one of the schools is Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville Academic Campus.

That school is home to defensive end/defensive tackle Alex Pace who holds a handful of offers currently and one of them is from the Syracuse Orange.

"I think Syracuse is a great program that is doing real well. They did well in the past year and I think they will continue that throughout the next season."

As it stands right now the Orange are in good with Pace and he talked about the first thing he thinks about when it comes to the Orange.

"When I think about Syracuse the first thing I think about is that they are a great football team. I watched them last year and I think they are about to make a big comeback in the Big East this year."

Doing the recruiting for Syracuse is Tyrone Wheatley and the coach and player have a solid relationship that takes them away from the football field.

"I talk with Coach Wheatley and when we are on the phone we talk a lot and sometimes it is not even about football."

Right now the Orange has a couple defensive tackle commitments and one defensive end, but for Pace he can play both and he talked about what he brings to the table.

"Syracuse is looking for me to play on the defensive line. I bring that explosiveness, I am quick off of the ball, dominate the line of scrimmage and make plays."

A trip to Syracuse was taken by some of his teammates, but he had to miss the trip because of an illness. Has he thought about making any visits in the future?

"Right now I have not really been communicating with any coaches because I am focused on my senior season. I do not have any favorites right now because I am just focusing on my senior season and taking one day at a time."

Despite slowing down his process Pace still has an idea for when he will make his decision.

"I will make my decision by the end of December."

When it comes to this upcoming season Pace thinks highly of his team.

"We are going to run through Ohio."
