Dawgs get No. 17

Sheldon Dawson thought he would wait until Tuesday before declaring where he would play his college ball.

But Monday, he changed his mind, telling UGASports that he will sign with the Bulldogs.

"I've committed to Georgia," Dawson said. "I'm going to be a Bulldog."

A three-star prospect who excels on both sides of the ball, the former Memphis commit chose Georgia over Ole Miss, which he visited this past week.

Rivals.com rates the 5-foot-11, 169-pounder as the nation's 27th-ranked athlete. He is expected to play cornerback for the Bulldogs.

Dawson's Georgia offer was one of 18 boasted by the Memphis native, a list that included Tennessee, Arkansas and Ohio State.

National Signing Day is Wednesday.

More to come.
