Mobley hoping to impress

Powell (Tenn.) High School's Dyshawn Mobley is making up for lost time this summer. After missing a few games last year due to injury, the six-foot, 210-pound Mobley is taken advantage of his opportunities at summer camps and is grateful for those opportunities.

"It has been a great opportunity this summer going to these camps and showing coaches what I can do," said Mobley, who still rushed for more than 1,000 yards last year despite missing four games. "Not many kids get to go to a lot of camps and I appreciate having that chance."
Not only that, Mobley is making sure he preps for his upcoming season at his camp stops.

"I have done well at most camps," said Mobley. "I could have done better at Cincinnati but I was a little tired at that camp because I had been to a few camps in a row. But I have worked on getting faster and improving my footwork.

"My speed helps me to get into open space and my size also gives me an advantage. Last year people tried to take my legs out from under me. So this summer I have learned how to defend that and I didn't know how to defend that last year."

Mobley has already attended camps at Mississippi State, Kentucky, Tennessee and Cincinnati among other stops. This weekend, he will make a return trip to Starkville in hopes of making another strong impression.

"I look forward to having a good forty time," said Mobley, who ran a 4.52 at his first MSU camp. I have never been to Big Dawg Camp, though, so I don't know if they will time us again. But I just want to do something special so that the coaches give me a good look. I get a letter from Coach (Angelo) Mirando almost every day and he tells me I am moving up their board. So I just have to see what happens and give it my best on Friday."

Mobley owns an offer from Toledo and is also drawing attention from MSU, Kentucky and Cincinnati. And he hopes to add to his offer list in the near future.

"It would be great to get an SEC offer," said Mobley. "Mississippi State and Kentucky are pretty close to decision and probably showing me the most interest out of schools that haven't offered. So I just have to wait and see what all happens."
